There seems to be some confusion on the new photo album, so I thought I'd take a minute and describe how it works.
You'll notice that most of the thumbnails are not very tall, and this sometimes causes the photos to look cut off at the top and bottom. This is intentional, and is 'artsy'. It's an artifact of the display theme I'm using. At the top of all the pages (except the specific dated photo pages) is a large photo, also cropped at the top and bottom. This is a random photo from the entire album, and changes each time you change pages.
The main page shows a single album, 'Photos By Date'. I could take this page right to this album, but one day I might get off my lazy but and group the photos by city or occasion, and then other albums will appear along side this one.
I am not too keen on the cropping of the thumbnails, but every now and then one pops up that just looks awesome, so I haven't decided to experiment with other display themes just yet.
I have noticed that sometimes a specific page takes a long time to load and it may actually time out before fully loading. If it does, you'll have to reload the page. Note that a page refresh from won't normally do what you'd expect it to do because of the way the photo album is incorporated into the site. A refresh will most likely take you to the start page again. I know, and I'm working on it. My web-fu is very weak!
Note that along the top of the photo album is a breadcrumb display, something like Photo Album | Photos By Date | 2008_08_23. Each of these parts is actually a link you can click on and which will take you to the indicated page of the albums.
Have fun! |
